someplace dreams are made of
Occupation
student, advocate to change the world
sorry.
but you can't blame the pen and pad on this one.

su
re

enough

what most speak
that call themselves--
'rappers'
might not be held to everyone's highest esteem--

but hip-hop and rap
are two different things...
hip-hop is two turntables and a mic--
the art of storytellin'

and somewhere along the line...

someone placed it all in a blender
and rap became hip-hop and
hip hop died a horrible death--
and
talkin' bout what you had
became status quo

when you can take none of it with you in the next life...

see
blaming an art
as twisted as the art might be--
for a culture's downfall is inappropriate--
'the man'
has never been responsible
he didn't make hip-hop

we made it
the people of the sun--
whose bodies seem to house hypertension
and heart disease--

because of stress?
or are we
just killing we?

****ING RAP would be like
killing your scribe--

rap is...like your hand
each finger is important
and no matter how much conscious hip-hop is pumped out

what gets the airplay is
'******* ho's clothes and shiny rocks'

a culture tainted?
or tainting itself?

you tell me what it means...

true...unfortunately hip hop is not recognized for the strong foundation it gives, becuz people believe that the radio nonsense disguised as RAP (but is really embellished pop) is hip hop...

At least TRUE HEARTS know the difference...and that is the way it should be...meant for only us :)

im come from the generation where hip-hop never crossed our minds
we live in a place where it has lost its time
hip hop still has its followers and gainin more
but rap has come and aint walkin through that door
we want to be concious but dont know how
we'd rather have money and hoes right now
when we're ready to grow up and mature
we'll look back to hip-hop, like y'all did before
