    I Call You Brother

As children, growing up as such
I didn't like you very much
For reasons that escape me till this day
I don't know why, it was just my way
Looking back, the things I did were bad
Doing things for fun to make you sad
And sometimes purposely making you mad
To see you discontented made me glad
Saying things that would make you cry
Childishly tormenting you to make time go by
Picking at you to make confrontational events
Having a laugh at your expense
Only God knows why I made you upset
Within the early years that we first met
Who knew that in time that better the situation would get
Having the conflict of siblings without being brothers yet
My father, your mother, before the two became one
They got together and had a son
The fruit of their union, born to the world
And solidified the reality of a relationship that was to be unwtwirled
From the time of his birth, we both grew
And matured as most intelligent men do
From that point on, the hostility in our relationship took a thud
For by this one we are related, though we be not blood
Brother of my brother, under a diffeent name
Son of my Fathers then wife, whose end of a marraige came
As time went by, we grew apart,... no one is to blame
Brother of my brother, under a different name
I don't play that half brother game
Though we be not of the blood of one another
God has allowed our paths to cross in such a way, to where now, I call you brother

Anyone would have to feel the pain and struggle of your emotions pulling at you, and then the resolution, coming to terms with and loving your brother. This was wonderfully written poet.

Your work is always so conscious
and thought provoking as well as
    emotionally stirring...

You took me back to childhood
experiences of my own and made
    me appreciate growth, maturity
    and the humility and wisdom
    that comes with the elevation
    of one's being...

    Very nice poet,
    Sage
