zorb...this one here hits close. my bestfriend just last friday morning went through some stuff with her boyfriend. Lord, above knows that she needs to read this piece. i can't seem to get it through to her to leave him. and it hurts to see it going on not just with her, but with people everywhere who won't get out of it because of the kids or financial situations or because they don't want to divorce. i once was a child of a battered woman...i thank God that my mother got out of the situation that she was in. i didn't feel that us going to good schools and having the best things was worth her getting hurt...if that makes any sense. well, i pray that God opens all of their minds and guide them out of whatever they are going through with their abusive partners. tyght piece, there are alot of people that need to read this.

thumbs up for having the strength to back your mom. I too pray that your friend opens her eyes before it's to late. Often tymes we wait to long. That one last tyme is so often the last tyme. Glas you and your mom made it out. I just pray for the many other sista and brothas (you'd be surprised) that are still not encouraged to get out.
