Ralph Elllison penned the book
Right out of the pages of my life
i guess he knew
Because he lived the same existence too
Yes, i am an invisible man
And i choose to stay invisible
Rather than what i've come to know
The alternative is to flip my script
And change the way i grow
No
i can't go
That way
No, not at all
Keeping my Peace being who i am
Those who possess real vision see
And i, yes i, i see me
i be talking in meetings
i'm the expert with the degree
Dumb fools act like nothing's been said
Like nothing can come out my nappy head
Look around and look straight through me
Well, i say my say and do all i've got to do
Gather my stuff up
And move on through
It's going to be such a surprise
When by necessity i materialize
Right in the middle of reality
Right before their eyes
But as for now
i am an invisible man
Way out of their vision's range
The way this all functions is really very strange
In the meantime i keep gathering the light
Moving on to victory
Fighting the Good Fight.
