(CNN) -- Can Hewlett-Packard's motion-tracking webcams see black people? It's a question posed on a now-viral YouTube video and the company says it's looking into it.
In the video, two co-workers take turns in front of the camera -- the webcam appears to follow Wanda Zamen [WHITE] as she sways in front of the screen and stays still as Desi Cryer[BLACK] moves about.

The article also contains a link to the original YouTube video and a link to the repeated experiment by Consumer Reports.

Why would anyone by a camera device(especially a webcam!!) that they could not use in standard lighting conditions? How come they didn't find out about this during testing? Are they looking for a "whites only" device?

    Great.

I possibly don't care if tools of the matrix can't detect us.

    I say great.

Because the white designer tested it on himself and others in the lab that were white.

In it's public display. The truth that the near field could not track dark imaging was discovered.

This new technology will guarantee a black person a job, during testing in the future.

MOOKIE.. get in here Bro.. we testing... :SuN049:

While this is embarassing to them. I don't think they built it that way intentionaly.

Black absorbs, white reflects. Their optical sensors were not getting the reflection off the Black workers face.

Great post and I am sure the YOUTUBE storm will continue ... because CNN hasn't quit looping and showing it in the last hour.
