In my opinion, rap is overrepresented in our community. I am NOT making fun or looking down on people that like that, but there is more to us than the hip-hop subculture. How can we create different kinds of music so that our own people will see that?

The redeeming quality of rap is that it did start in people's homes; they sold it from home to home until it got noticed by whites. But that is where the problem is. Not only did it get noticed by whites but (some of it) was not appropriate to begin with.

But again, this is just my opinion. If you like rap music, I have nothing against you... just promote it so that you make money for both yourself and your community.
