I had a question. Does anybody know how much water it takes to digest a meal?
It actually only takes about a cup or a little more to digest a meal, depending on the contents of the meal.
However, that is not even a 10th of the amount of water that needs to be consumed on a daily basis.
The only thing I know is that you have to drink 8 glasses of water a day -- sorry that is the only info I have on water Let me know if you find out though
...........................I thought it was 5 glasses or so.
Wouldn't that depend on what the meal consists of?
This is my understanding and knowledge of this. First of all, you really shouldn’t drink and eat at the same time, because water dilutes your natural digestive enzymes in your saliva and stomach (some advise to wait an hour afterwards). Secondly, the water intake recommended of at least 8 glasses a day, is coming from the knowledge of meat eaters, who need more water to deal with that type of diet. Vegetarians and especially vegans get a lot of water as a by-product of eating fruits and vegetables. But drinking plenty of water and keeping the body hydrated and cleansed shouldn’t be understated or marginalized, regardless of diet. Thirdly, if you are drinking a lot of water, get either the most trusted spring water you can buy or make sure if you are drinking large amounts of distilled, replace your trace minerals with supplements or some information suggest a small pinch of sea salt per gallon of distilled will give you back your trace minerals. This is suggested because distill water has a stripping effect if dranked in large quantities.
But study this subject and get as much info as possible. Water intake can vary based on activity, environment and weather or your own physiological needs. Usually most modern humans don’t drink nearly enough water.
I was always told that you need to drink 8, 8oz glasses of water a day -- has anyone else heard this?
for an intake of water to digest a meal is 1 1/2 cups but the body also
needs the full daily amount of 8 glasses to help flush the human system
likes of kidneys and bladder in the summer more then 8 less then 11 is
good because we sweat and lose water and we visit the rest room
when you have an intake of 400 cc of water you lose over half of it
in the summer you will lose nearly all and the body will not consumed
enough water your outtake will be near 300 and you sweat over 50 cc
but it takes about a cup and a half for a meal , and yes it would play an
important part in what the meal consist of many things carry salt that will
take up the water comsumed .
Well I would not surprised to know that the limit has gone up, because Health risks are becoming higher. I last heard that it was 5 glasses about 4 years ago. I am no Health expert, but it has got to be between 5-10 glasses.
Also, the water has got to be cold.
all good CD..... but 8 is the key but many of us don't drink that much
i myself may have an intake of 6 glasses daily but on hot summer days
it's a bit more ....
