    You made me look too ... this is what Wikipedia said :

    In the 2001 Census, 565,876 people in the UK had reported their ethnicity as "Black Caribbean", 485,277 as "Black African", and 97,585 as "Black Other", making a total of 1,148,738 "Black or Black British" residents. This was equivalent to 2 per cent of the UK population at the time.

    Thanks for welcome Destee! Yes there are 1.1 million in 2001, now it's 1.9 million. The population has gone up 60+%, and it's mainly in the Black African category.
