I know this is a stupid question but how on Earth does a woman donate her eggs to help another couple have children? How does this work?? I understand how it works for a man, but how can a woman donate her eggs and have biological children she never gave birth to??!? I saw it on Elimidate when I was flipping through the channels. Im confused as hell!! Please help.

You go to the clinic and they extract the eggs from your ovaries.

I know that, but what can someone else do with her eggs? They put the eggs in another woman and she conceives and gives birth to a baby whose not biologically hers?? How can a woman not give birth to her own biological children, this doesn't make sense. What can anyone else do with her eggs? How does that work? I know I'm slow but I'm confused.

The eggs are fertilized, then implanted in another woman uterus.

Technically a surrogate mother would not be the biological mother in this type of situation.

At best, (if one attributes a child growing inside of you for 9 months and then going through the agonizing process of labor to being a mother), you could say a child born in this manner has two mothers.

So it's not the doners kids by DNA/genetics the way it would be a male doners if he donated his sperm?

It would be the donor's kid by genetics because she's giving her eggs. It's the surrogate who would not be biologically related to the child she gives birth to. So yes, you could compare this to men donating sperm.

I know how stupid all this must sound, but this is strange to me. You mean to tell me a White woman can give birth to Black children? I thought surrogate was the word for the woman who can have children?

The surrogate is the one who gives birth.

And to answer your other question, yes a white woman could have a black woman's child or vice-versa. In fact my father had told me about a situation of a black surrogate giving birth to a half-white/half-Asian child for her friends. She wanted parental rights which the court denied because she wasn't biologically related to the kid.
