Black Poetry : How Do I Love Thee (Keme's Challenge)

I believe it was Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Who said, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways”
Yet I cannot begin to fathom in my mind
The innumerable ways that I love you
For my love for you
Transcends
Mortal boundaries
I love you deeply
So deeply
That its depth cannot be measured
My love for thee is stronger than my desire for life itself
For if need be I would give mine for you
How do I love thee?
I can’t even put it into words
Therefore
My actions shall convey
The message of this powerful emotion
You see I realize
That my purpose for being born
Was to love you
Even before I met you
My life was entwined with yours
This is why you can ask what you will of me
And I shall bestow it upon you
You are my soul mate
The part that completes me
The other half of my heart
That until you came into my life
It wasn’t whole
Our souls have kissed and made love
In our dreams
conception took place
and upon our first meeting
love had been delivered and we brought forth
an unending devotion to one another
this is why
I cry
Laugh
Sing
Scribe
All for you
Because of you
You are the reason
I can tap into the essence of life
And draw out those things
That gives life meaning
You are why
I can pen a prose
From the subterranean chambers of my heart
And produce
Life giving
Love permeating
Fruits
Of poetic passion
For you are my inspiration
the door to my imagination
for when I scribe
we both scribe
as one flesh
forever tied together
giving birth and life to poetic fire,
an eternal flame that shall symbolize my love
for you throughout all eternity.
