it has been mentioned for years as a solution for unwed mothers, what are your views on this pro or con

and would you consider a polygamous marriage and share a husband with a co-wife or wives?

    No thanks.

    No way.

    No how.

    Not for me.

I have no interest in my husband sharing his heart, time, money or man parts on anyone else but me.

    :)

I guess I am wired differently

I lean more towards an African view of polygamy. The European mindset we are raised with can make us feel like it would be a terrible thing. I don't think of it as settling. It is just a way of doing things that is outside our Christian worldview.

Being in a monogamous relationship doesn't mean you won't be sharing your husband with other women. It just adds the elements of cheating, sneaking, lying and guilt And those other women will be your enemies rather than your sister wives.

Would I consider it? Yes. And if it were legal I would have been done it.

Polgamy would be tainted here and used to cover up underlying intent. For me personally, I couldn't do it at this stage in my life with the expereriences that I have had. Once raised, you can't be re-raised (if that's a word, but you get my drift).

I understand what you are saying, sista, that you cannot change the way you were raised if you have accepted that way and find no problem with it. When I say what I would or would not do I do not imply that everyone should do as I do.

Yes, polygamy can be abused. I can't think of any system that somebody somewhere won't find a way to use towards their own base intentions. As I have said elsewhere some choose a rock and some choose a hard place.

Why is it when this topic comes up, and it comes up periodically, its always about men having multiple wifes? The relationship form also has a counterpart where women are allowed to have multiple husbands. How do y'all feel about that one?
