Black Poetry : How A Real Man Loves A Woman

Your mind reeling over
Why
Are the perceptions
Of
Brothers so limited
When it comes to a real woman
They never see you for your worth
Usually because they are only after your treasure
But the measure of a woman
Is not contained
In her
gift
but
it is measured
in the totality of who she is
and that’s what they don’t get
you are not a trophy
to be carried around
so he can rest upon his laurels
and show you off to others
as if he is some conquering king
and as soon as he finds another conquest
you are left on a shelf
but you are a precious Diamond
that deserves to be
respected
revered
admired
and so here goes this cycle
of
impressing
thinking he will be
undressing
without ever
addressing
just why
he feels
he is
worthy
of your heart
and you wonder
where are the real men
who can touch your soul
and make love to you
without ever touching your body
for you see intimacy
is never about the physical
but it comes from within
truth be told
a real man
will be there even if the physical
would never manifest
just to be in your presence
is enough
a real man
could be satisfied
with a single kiss
which would carry him
until such time
as the time is right
a real man never makes it to be about him
but it’s all about you
and he knows he can never truly be happy
unless you are happy
and so his will
receives it’s commands
from your heart
because he is in tune
and knows how to read it
he never
but these so called
men
who are just brothers
no
better yet
the males
they seek you that you may serve them
and become emotional subservient
to his desires
and that my Sweetness
is the difference
between him
and
I
