Well the news reporters are saying what I felt; Iran's actions in regards to their threats of closing the Strait of Hormuz is the direct cause of high gas prices. A map was shown to better explain that if this strait was actually shut, the major exports of oil would not be able to be sent out to places that have been dependent upon it. If this were to happen, it was also said that other prices such as products in grocery stores would also rise, and the gas prices would actually double. Could the Iranians actually pull it off? Just how dependent is America? Well here is the yahoo link to the most recent report:

Here is another report as well:

lol Sister ... the above question reminded me of that old cliche ... "how sick is massa"? ...

oh gosh ... depend'n on how sick or dependent he is ... we'll determine our own condition ...

oh gosh ... politics ... i don't understand it ... :) ... but in an attempt to stay on topic ...

i remember gas prices being high long before talk of closing straits and stuff ... i think massa gonna kill 'em all.

    lol!

maybe! This reminds me of an old, old song about how 'the valley people swore they'd have the treasure of the mountain people buried beneath a stone, so they killed them, turned the stone and looked beneath it...peace on earth was all it said'.

I believe governments are fighting, or threatening, and up in arms over trade power and nuclear power...power and control. And the world has been so dependent on oil, I couldn't imagine what could happen if the spickets started to run dry. That's a thought, I wonder has there been such an happening of oil wells running completely dry.

So Iran Already Stopped Oil Shipments to Some European Nations!!!

At first I heard that gas prices have risen due to the threat of Iran halting oil shipments from getting through the Strait of Hormuz, but it seems like they have already acted to some degree. Would this be suppressed information and part of the reason why gas prices have risen? It definitely seems that ever since the end of the Cold War, there has been so many incredible and horrible conflicts all over the earth and there continues to be a constant threat of security and peace everywhere. But based upon my research, the most significant conflicts that could cause the world the most irreparable damage revolves around conflicts involving Syria and the rest of ‘the Middle East’ and east that could escalate to include Iranian hostilities. It seems like history might be getting ready to repeat itself because this would be the same situation that happened in ancient times in which the ancient Iranian [Medo-Persian] systems clashed with the ancient Greco-Roman systems of Democracy. We are right back at the door of that same ancient power crisis and once again, the Israeli presence becomes a significant dilemma. Even though tensions are stressed between Iran and Israel, the Iranian government has the same dynamics as it did thousands of years ago in relations to some Israeli people but this has been kept hidden. The very foundation of the ancient Iranian [Persian] empire consisted of an Israelite woman of whom became the queen to the very King of kings of their empire! Not only that but, I’ve always wondered in the back of my mind about our president’s name, Barack Hussein Obama, whose name seems to connect to these Middle Eastern civilizations. Doesn’t the name of ‘Hussein’ have origins in the Fertile Crescent and in the lands between two rivers? Would there be a coincidence that his name ‘Hussein’ bares a scriptural resemblance to the name of the river ‘Shushan’ in Iran? Will relations ever improve between Iran and Israel in the near future? Last but not least though, could all of this fuss over nuclear weapons and oil be a smoke screen due to a shortage of oil supplies and a competitive struggle for the right to have control over it?

After several countries imposed sanctions over Iran's nuclear program,
the fifth largest oil producer in 2010halted shipments to some European
nations, putting more pressure on oil supply and causing crude prices to spike.

Further information gathered would be that it has been said that 10 Russia War Ships has just recently sailed and situated in the Mediterranean Sea area! The Russia have also been said to been assisting Syria. Some say that a league happen between Russia, China, and North Korea, three nuclear powers and that they may help Iran.

You can't threat to invade the people with the oil and expect them to trade with you willingly, that's a democratic dictatorship.

Man, i was running low on gas just yesterday, i pulled into a gas station, got out and leaned on my truck staring at this sign that read $4.49 per gallon for premium. I hopped back in my truck grabbed all of my valuables, locked it up right there at the station and thought it would be much cheaper for me to leave it there and walk home. This way they can tow it for me back across town without me having to pay for any gas.

I did the math real quick and came to the conclusion that the tow fee would be about $40 less than if i were to fill up my vehicle.....

I'm about to invest in some roller blades with shocks and bumpers on 'em......:jawdrop:
