Dude, some of the students I taught English to here are Black.
They didn't speak a lick of English.
They are Japanese.
But Black.
Like in El Salvador: Salvadorian, but Black.
(The lady I met was a maid... I used to buy glasses in the US and send them to her to try on her son.)
German... but Black.
Italian, but Black.
We are everywhere...
... and we loose nothing.
I guess it's matter of perspective. We have teachers, but we are hurting for good teachers, particularly in the urban areas. I think you would do well teaching our young.
Do the White people who marry us loose anything?
Do we when we marry them?
Yo, light skinned brothers and sisters have to start somewhere...
and you don't see us tossing them out saying that they represent some kind of loss.
I'm really only concerned about us right now. We are in dire straits.
Can any of us here even imagine ourselves tossing out those of us who married
Puerto Ricans and Dominicans?
Dated them?
Dude... did we ever see them as diminishing anything.
Us as doing so?
There kids as being any less?
I guess you miss the point. You have a lot of sistas where I live that have kids that need a father. The bruthas here will, and do marry out of their race and be a father to those kids. I see them all the time, I've heard the comments, and I've engaged in the conversations. This one brutha left a sista and her son because she was wanting him to get a job so they could move forward. He hooked up with this white thang, she gave him an ultimatum, find a job or I'm gone. He found one in one week. That is the situations sistas face here where I live.
Even that we have our problems and issues in society, we loose nothing in who we marry.
If we raise our kids right, things work out.
Obviously you never raised kids...You meant to say you "hope" things work out right.
If this "do something for the race continue the Black race"
things is so important to you or anybody, then fine.
"THE ONE DROP RULE"!
We all know the rule...
If there is but one drop of Black blood in the child,
then it is considered BLACK.
OK...how does this give us measurable results?
Now there.
No matter where we go in the world there will be BLACK CHILDREN.
They will be all of the colors and kids of us that we see
in our neighborhoods and churches.
The light skin.
The dark skin.
The ones with one parent White or Puerto Rican or Dominican or
Chinese or Korean or... I so don't have to go through the list.
Do you think color is our issue, or our "push out", and crime rate? Think more about issues we are facing rather than a shortage of blacks Once again, you missed the point. Our people need to have the fathers in the home helping the mother raise them.
Now that that is over, let's get onto things that will really
help us as a PEOPLE.
I hope explaining yourself wasn't a choir.
My Brothers (wow, I haven't been able to use that term for so many years... I will use it again now)...
If everything is honky dory...why do you say this? The one drop rule should allow you to say it to many. I just thought this was odd. I work around whites all day, and when I do see a black, I use brutha or sista in my greeting. It seems you are longing for something.
Peace!
