The Front Porch : hi... I left USA... racism too much to bear...

Dude, some of the students I taught English to here are Black.
They didn't speak a lick of English.
They are Japanese.
But Black.
Like in El Salvador: Salvadorian, but Black.
(The lady I met was a maid... I used to buy glasses in the US and send them to her to try on her son.)
German... but Black.
Italian, but Black.

We are everywhere...
... and we loose nothing.

I guess it's matter of perspective. We have teachers, but we are hurting for good teachers, particularly in the urban areas. I think you would do well teaching our young.

Do the White people who marry us loose anything?
Do we when we marry them?
Yo, light skinned brothers and sisters have to start somewhere...
and you don't see us tossing them out saying that they represent some kind of loss.

I'm really only concerned about us right now. We are in dire straits.

Can any of us here even imagine ourselves tossing out those of us who married
Puerto Ricans and Dominicans?
Dated them?
Dude... did we ever see them as diminishing anything.
Us as doing so?
There kids as being any less?

I guess you miss the point. You have a lot of sistas where I live that have kids that need a father. The bruthas here will, and do marry out of their race and be a father to those kids. I see them all the time, I've heard the comments, and I've engaged in the conversations. This one brutha left a sista and her son because she was wanting him to get a job so they could move forward. He hooked up with this white thang, she gave him an ultimatum, find a job or I'm gone. He found one in one week. That is the situations sistas face here where I live.

Even that we have our problems and issues in society, we loose nothing in who we marry.
If we raise our kids right, things work out.

Obviously you never raised kids...You meant to say you "hope" things work out right.

If this "do something for the race continue the Black race"
things is so important to you or anybody, then fine.
"THE ONE DROP RULE"!
We all know the rule...
If there is but one drop of Black blood in the child,
then it is considered BLACK.

OK...how does this give us measurable results?

Now there.
No matter where we go in the world there will be BLACK CHILDREN.
They will be all of the colors and kids of us that we see
in our neighborhoods and churches.
The light skin.
The dark skin.
The ones with one parent White or Puerto Rican or Dominican or
Chinese or Korean or... I so don't have to go through the list.

Do you think color is our issue, or our "push out", and crime rate? Think more about issues we are facing rather than a shortage of blacks Once again, you missed the point. Our people need to have the fathers in the home helping the mother raise them.

Now that that is over, let's get onto things that will really
help us as a PEOPLE.

I hope explaining yourself wasn't a choir.

My Brothers (wow, I haven't been able to use that term for so many years... I will use it again now)...

If everything is honky dory...why do you say this? The one drop rule should allow you to say it to many. I just thought this was odd. I work around whites all day, and when I do see a black, I use brutha or sista in my greeting. It seems you are longing for something.

Peace!

in other words you are in japan because you are looking to inter marry. has nothing to do with racism.

Why would someone go to Japan to find a white person?

The most you'll find are foreign English teachers. And their interests are for white or VERY SUCCESSFUL Japanese.

White girls there are snootier and more stuck up than the ones here. Especially if they THINK they look like something.

From what I know, the only chance for pro love there is with African immigrants or Black American military men/women.

SORRY IF THIS IS A REPOST...
SYSTEM CHOKED ON LAST EDIT...
AND IT SEEMED LIKE IT WOULD NOT LET ME DELETE...
APOLOGIES...
OK... SO HERE WE GO...

I know there are folks here who are married to someone Latin.
Or have a parent that is Latin.

Or White.

Even that we have our problems and issues in society, we loose nothing in who we marry.
If we raise our kids right, things work out.

Dude... you know the answer is no.
And so does everyone else here -- I hope.

Come on folks... I've been away from home for a long time.
I am so happy to finally hear our voices again after so long.

But I sm now very worried.

I know we get a ton of **** dumped on us.
But for the love of whatever you hold precious in this world,
what does all this talk about racial imperative and how this
peoples this or that peoples that is somehow connected to
Africa or whatever.

If this "do something for the race continue the Black race"
things is so important to you or anybody, then fine.

My Brothers (wow, I haven't been able to use that term for so many years... I will use it again now)...
My Brothers and Sisters...
We are smart...
We know what history has dealt us.
MLK and Malcom expect more from us (yes... present tense).

We are smart enough to find this irrelavent history
stuff about Africa something and preserving race
as... well... IRRELAVANT....
Well, use that energy to research where in the world we can go for a good education.
(No joke... one friend I knew found out that he could get a mega inexpensive education
in New Zealand or somewhere with the right combination of school credits and other stuff.
He pulled it off and went... problem is, I don't remember his info... that was years ago).

Why not put that same energy into gathering together a database of places and opportunities?
Currency exchange rates combined with cost of living figures.

I'm not going to be all talk here.
I'm going to help get the ball rolling.
A friend of mine on the internet (white fellow from the EU, I think) have been working
on how to get more fair society ideas integrated into our existing social system
in a way that makes it inevitable -- we are breaking the problem into smaller
and smaller pieces. We are trying to do good for all.
(Tall order, but gotta start somewhere) -- here are a couple of links
we are using to help create some metric for understanding the concept of
good governance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_corruption
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption_Perceptions_Index

So, what's important about these links... and the maps that you find there.
These provide a view of what to expect in different regions in terms of
corruption -- which can be used as a proxy for things like general
public safety and rule of law and such.
Things that might influence a decision.

Like, choosing to go to somewhere in Africa or Russia or Romania
to study Math or Sociology because it is economical, but already
knowing that extra preparations need to be made to deal with
weak governance and safety issues.

Notice how China and parts of Africa are the same color?
If you want to study public policy for the development of
health and infrastructure systems, which do you think is better?
What about language issues?

Now you or anybody has a tool to help make a decision.

See? :em2300:

Maybe if we knew what 2 year colleges we could go to that could give
us enough credits to apply to an overseas college at the same cheap
US rate...?

What about 4 year colleges?

Is there a combination that can give maximum credits with 100%
carryover to a 4 year STATE university that has an inexpensive
overseas study program for 1 year?

See? :em2300:

I didn't see too many of us taking advantage of that stuff
while here in Japan.
But we can now. :em2300:

FYI... just for giggles, make some phone calls to some state
universities and just ask. Fine the contacts.

Just give it a try... I happen to know that
the State University of New York State system
has some programs at verious campuses.

And University of Michigan.....
:em2300:

Even if you really want to (or have to... some have responsibilities...)
stay in the US,
you might find so good agricultural schools and manufacturing schools
that are mad affordable with grants and stuff in parts of America.

Why can't we be filling up those classrooms?
Everybody else is.

So,
Brothers and Sisters,
(I can't get enough of saying that!)
let's drop this other stuff.
Let's start getting ourselves to a better place...
... be it here....
... or overseas.

I've been away for a while... I can finally check back in.

I'm sure there is no need for me to provide a summary of the tone of this thread. The thread is here and anyone can read it.

But more importantly, I'm just curious...
... and my questions goes especially to the "haters" on this thread:

Based on all of the well thought out replies by those who quoted the above post and point by point made "replies" (quite negatively) or just replied negatively.
Or any of the members going on about unrelated, time wasting -- I will say it -- "pseudo-history".
I want to ask you:
Who amongst you actually made a telephone call to a college?
I listed in my post?
I mean, it's like a major first step toward moving forward.
It was a TODO, folks!
I even outlined the basics for where to contact and look.
You MUST know this... you quoted my posts in your replies, so you MUST have read it.
And since I was away for like a week, I'm so not looking for a show of hands here.
And you can be sure as hell aint't nobody else looking for a show of hands either.
Brothers and Sisters, you need to show
  • the names of colleges,
  • phone numbers,
  • department names,
  • contact names of who's running language programs and...
  • their phone numbers AND...
  • email addresses.
It will be hard to take you seriously if you haven't even done that much for the cause.
And since you had a whole week, that means you must already have all this sweet information on hand and you'll just reply with your trove of data. You wont need an extra week at all.
So, Brothers and Sisters, to recap: Where are you're results?
