    HEY COLORED GIRLS

Hey Light Skin, care to conversate
With your pretty smile and your hair bone straight
And the charm and attractiveness that is more real than fadded
With skin the color of coffee, after the cream has been added
And speak sweet words over the sugary juice of lemon
And discuss the problems faced by you and other pretty women
Particularly of the topic to which you are prone,...
To attract words of contempt due to your light skin tone
Yellow girl, Red Bone, those names sound familiar,...
When spoken in jelousy, it sounds sad and sillier,...
Each and every time folks try to make you ache
    By calling you a wanna be white B I T C H
Though such is the case of your skin tone plight
But you know what Light Skin, you're gonna be alright
If you just rise above the words, and let them go by
And walk on the wings of an eagle, and fly

Hey Carmel Girl, Yeah I'm talking to you
Looking all good, like a caramel chew
Making my mouth water, and my proper thoughts corrupt
Like the caramel, I want to take you out of your wrapper, and tounge you all up
Lets talk about how you deal with bad attitudes
And the untamed tounges of the loud and the rude
And dance to the rhythm that lies within our bowels
And snap at those who would say harsh things, like dripping wet towels
***** and Ho are words that propagate,...
From the lips of those who player hate
Because to the eye by far,...
You may be aesthetically more appealing than they are
Be that bold soul sista, that one of a kind
That keeps on steppin, and pays them no mind
Going 'bout yo business as the wise would do
Not studying the folks that would worry you

Hey Black Girl, Yeah you Miss Groove
With skin Ebony-licious and plum smooth
With your smile as bright as a twinkling star
And a complextion more attractive than a Chocolate Bar
Lets chat on the level of the higher Latitudinal
Of the things that plague the black and the beautiful
How you deal with derision, but walk in line
Because you posses knowledge, and know that U R Fine
Darkie, Tarbaby, those names ring a bell
Spoken by those who'd like to dammn you to hell
Purposely directing these words at you
All because you look prettier than they do
Let your Character Laugh out Loud
And Say on its own I'm Black and I'm Proud
And for those who speak and fail to understand
Just bring them to a halt and tell them "Talk to the Hand"

Hey Colored Girls, Yeah, all y'all
Nubian Princesses groomed for a beauty call
A visual blessing that my eyes have found
In a Chocolate Rainbow of different shades of brown
Lets rap about the topics that seemed to be mis-guided
That keeps you at eachothers throats, and keeps you divided
Such awesome beauty; femanine and strong
So why is it that you can't get along
Light Skin comes under random attack
Of being to light, of not really being black
And Black Girl, harrased by those who feel they themselves are a gift
And feels that she is too dark to associate with
And Caramel Girl, talked down to, by those who zelously,...
Speak ill of her because of jelousy
You're soiling yourselves and making yourselve ugly
Over the very thing that makes all of you Lovely

Wow, speaking of the beauty of us all that make up a spectacular Nubian rainbow, often missed due to foolish attacks on each other. I liked the way you posed this poet. ^5
