    Made to feel dirty
    Consumed with shame
Not knowing it wasn't her fault

The touch of a man unknown to her
He comes to haunt her in her dreams
Frightened to reveal what took place

    Her innocence was stolen

    Only 14
    No longer pure
Trapped in a car in an alley
    Now feeling unclean
    Afraid of men

    Reality lost to her
    Made to believe un-human
Should have been in school that day

    Violated
    Scared of her people
    All because of 1

    She wept
    Terrified to sleep
    In fear for her life

    Her innocence was stolen

This piece brings to mind the song (youre so far away... doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore.... it would be so fine to see your face at my door... doesn't help to know... your so far away)
So this piece to me is you going to your front door and greeting yourself and saying ...

    you alright girl
    you alright
    I am grown up now
and I think you are kewl

    Peace

    Patrice

    Her sweet innocence stripped
    her pure soul ripped
by what lurks , stolen & hurt
    Da fear and shame
    nolonger claims da name
rising beyond yet feeling da pain
her innocence stolen just da same

Who has da rites to an virgin .....NO ONE !
this was deep and felt in my heart so many
are traped in this maze and it hurts ...........

you give me too much credit. you wrote the poem for whatever reason. I only encouraged you to wriite all your thoughts on paper, put the puzzle together. Rearrange it and look what it turned into.

A good mentor merely gives you a mirror, you do the looking

    Peace

Who has da rites to a virgin

Familiarize self to a young woman’s form
    The aspects of her essence
    That pleasures itself
    Makes her feel desires flawless
In awe of everything about identity

Let her know her body has purpose
A temple, the incubator of life
    Perfected gift unto her mate
    Delightful when alone or shared
Choices that include the desire of no

The rite to remain as is
Knowing she does not have to be sacrificed
Unto gods or men or rituals plenty
Her hips a safe place to channel birth
Her breasts for her child to feed
Her body her private space to love

Knowing her sexuality is part of a bigger dowry
That her mind for infinite generations held nations
    Crafting jewels and houses plenty
    Growing food into sustenance
    Raising the minds of tomorrow
Prompt her to know her virginity has deep roots
Do not give it too freely
A nations ransom could not be traded for it
    Her virginity a personal rite
