    Heft and Sway

    Our words are weightless
    Our pleas get no play
Our prayers fall on deaf ears
    Our protests have no say

    Nobody walks in our shoes
Or want our feet of clay
    Everybody knows the old news
We have no heft or sway

Nobody knows the trouble we’ve seen
Others just don’t seem to care
So long we’ve been a motherless child
Our life is no crystal stair

So much’s been given by the faithful
It’ll be revealed in the new light of day
How much is too much is how much
It’ll take us to get some real play

When you’ve walked a mile in our shoes
And carried our weight for one day
You’ll be qualified for the reparations
To increase our heft and our sway.

No one can walk in our shoes...and survive,
cause that's how much "sway" we have in our stride
    but...
Our mother will one day, come back to life
and behind us will be all our pain and strife
    awesome piece poet...
do continue to, wake and shake us...we're almost woke

Most would break under the weight we've already carried, and still continue to. You have such a way of bringing the truth poetically oldsoul. Wonderfully written.

Very Nice. Your right. " How much is too much is how much "

How much do I have to bear?

To get some distant over the land
    and in the atmosphere.

This is too much for an ordinary man.

    That was on my back.

    How did you stand?

I'll tell you how much is to much more than enough.

Your foot on my fingers, your hand around my neck.
Your meeting me on my travels to a better place.
Only to misdirect me again. pretending your supporting.
    My weight with a grin.

I'm carrying you! The weight of the world,
no hope for my son and my sweet little girl.

My contributions of taxes and time.
    Blood lost in the battle
and in the military front lines.

Some of the burden is mine
    and mistakes I made.
    The rest is the burden
    you create these days.

    I dare not
    stop or drop
    what I carry,
    for some of its
    important for
    the survival.

Do I look like a pack mule?

Do my foot prints go deep?

Its the Heft and Sway of my load.
