This sister has some good things to say regarding the social and economic climate in America right now. She acknowledges how race plays a factor in socio-economic disadvantage but also digs in to the fact that we are all effected by the cast system that's in place. White supremacy is a great tool of misdirection that gets all of us looking at the wrong people for the cause of our misfortune. Let's hope more people get hip to the game.

    In the Spirit of Sankofa,

......Great interview, really enjoyed it; however, Heather lines up well with the Occupy Wall Street movement, in terms of ideals. But what struck me was her hesitancy to answer whether her generation would follow President Obama again.

The liberal Democratic party is closer than the GOP on the right to providing the social contract alluded to. When it comes to increasing the minimum wage, reversing loans back to grants, focusing on the middle class, its clearly the Obama administration, along with pressure from the electorate that stands a chance at restoring the dismal non-effect of trickle down economics; the true cause of the plight, in my view.

    Peace In,

I agree. The best chance for acting on some of the reform items she mentions lies with the Obama administration but given the state of congress right now, I don't think it will never happen. Having President Obama in office is almost like throwing a block to prevent the situation from getting worse. Personally, I would rather have the stalemate than more policies to benefit the top tier.

    In the Spirit of Sankofa,

.......Yep, Congress is at an all-time low in terms of popularity; commonly referred to as a do nothing Congress controlled by the Tea Party. Meanwhile, the economy is improving, along with the President's approval rating, and the GOP is imploding before our very eyes.

    Peace In,
