African American Teen, Pre-Teen, and Near-Teen Girls, Your Voices are needed!!
My name is M. LaVora Perry. I am currently co-authoring a book about African-American adolescent and preteen health with one of the most respected gynecologists in her field, Dr. Linda Bradley of the world-renown Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Bradley and I need your story and that of your daughter. The book, African-American Teen Girls Health (Cleveland Clinic Press, 2007), addresses many of the concerns, challenges and victories girls can have.
African-American Teen Girls Health provides facts about girls’ bodies, relationships, and the pressures of today’s world. On its pages, real girls share their stories and youthful readers can gain the knowledge they need to make educated decisions and wise choices. The book also features the voices of parents and others who care for and care about African-American girls. Girls can rely on African-American Teen Girls Health as a source of medically sound information and empowerment. This book will also be an invaluable resource for parents, teachers and anyone who cares about and works with African-American girls.
