    Halloween

Halloween evolved from the ancient Celtic holiday of Samhain, but over the centuries Halloween transitioned from a pagan ritual to a day of parties, costumes, jack-o-lanterns and trick-or-treating for kids and adults.

Hey Bro. SOA...honestly, I wish our children lived in a different world where they could be "children" and not have to be tainted by the hatred and fear that we experience every day. If I had a child old enough to understand Halloween, they would also understand that it's not safe for them to be going out "trick or treat" because they may encounter people who will want to harm us. I'm not going to pretend that it's safe or that there's nothing to fear. Truth is, there is and our children are never too young to know and understand that. They need to be taught self-defense not how to beg for candy. I know you were expressing love for our babies, but the best love I can give is to teach them how to survive in a place that doesn't respect them as human beings. They need keen eyes, ears and understanding of the unfortunate situation they find themselves having been born in America. For that reason our babies need to grow up fast. No need to depend on mommy and daddy for everything. Give them the knowledge needed so they can be the last "man" standing. Teach them what they need to know to survive the African American holocaust and that's never about assimilating to any oppressor's culture.

Symbol of America ... thank you for sharing ...

Like NNQueen ... I'm sure you are expressing love for the babies ...

I never let my children go trick or treating. Even the name is weird. Trick or Treat. What?! Trick this ... :shot:

No, I never let my children go and we did not entertain other begging children.

Begging for candy, of all things!

If one must beg, and I've found it a shameful thing to have to do, don't let it be for candy ... :shame:

So many wrong messages to be instilling into the children.

Raising babies not to take candy from strangers, only to encourage them on this day!

What sort of parenting is this?! Our children need consistent guidance and direction.

I would take my children to the store, give them a few dollars, and let them pick the candy they wanted.

No concern of what another may have done to it, or the confuzzling of important life lessons.

All that partake, please be safe.

    Loving Us!

Ummm, well I guess my Halloween safety message didn't go over too well. Yes NNQ my message was basically a safety message and Miss Destee my message was in no possible way meant to denigrate a well celebrated American holiday that all races of children partake without feeling they'l be looked on as the sons and/or daughters of penniless beggars or juvenile extortionist but like me and many of those Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Hindi, Middle Eastern, Jewish and others who choose to look at it as a chance for their little ones to have fun And that's all it was intended to be, a safety message for those that don't historically practice the constructs of much less worship this holiday but choose to enjoy what most Americans of all colors, creeds, races or religious affiliations as it's traditionally looked upon as a chance for the little ones to play dress up in funny or scary costumes, some purchased at stores, others sewn together with love and pride for the little ones to ply the neighborhoods walking proudly as any and everything they delight in the quest for goodies with nary a care or concern in the world, that's why parents, older brothers and sisters and safety announcements exist, to protect the little ones at the feet of their ever watchful mommies, daddies, older brothers and sisters and even doting grandmas and grandpas. As a young one from living in the filthiest hard core ghettos to tree line gated and secured safe havens in suburbia Halloween was one of the few holidays we felt were our own special holiday where we could don our betters and get candy and for the next week we'd eat more candy and get our teeth brushed more then any other time of the year by our caring, loving moms and dads. I'll leave with this note, like anything else that changes the course of humanity and the forces that effect us so that we have to alter our traditional mindset in the wake of ever increasing dangers to us and our own, we strive to continue what we and/or our little ones love and cherish unfettered by the mentally, sexually or otherwise criminally unbalanced ne'er-do-wells with nefarious intent. For the most part Halloween has now been reserved for well planned indoor community and neighborhood events where the venues have games, contest and just fun stuff not just for the kids but for everybody. Now more then ever numerous neighborhood watch and other local safety groups and organizations band together to serve as the protectors and even law enforcement agencies get heavily involved with the care and safety of our future. If my post was in any possible way taken for other then it was intended to be, so with all that I felt in some way needed to be said, by all means please accept my sincerest apologies and I was only expressing my love and adoration of the little ones who always bring a warm smile to my face when I witness how they have the uncanny ability to light up rooms with not only their presence but with their smiles, giggles, squeaks and all the wonderful gems and utterances that make them so special and for that I always look Heavenward and thank GOD ever so much for bringing these little angels into my life. I'm sure I have a lot of company. Well I said my piece so make of it what you will if in some way you took my message as something other then I intended it to be and either way have a pleasant night, I appreciate your comments and more so GOD bless you and yours.
