    they hang upside down
    as if some heifer after
    slaughter letting the
    blood drain and stain
    the floor / leaving
    ruddy tinted pictures
of life lost / now these
    roses hang upside down
    staring at me waiting to
dry out / dry out from
tears of yesterday and pray that
    tomorrows tears of yesteryear
    have evaporated with time
so the ache does not dig
    into the soils of hope
    I had for she/I (why?)
    letting things run thier
    own course leaves openings
    for dis-course of muted
    thoughts and apologies
    that don't apply when
    disappointment embeds its
    nails in the sun

    days die cease to exist
    like flowers scent hanging
    upside down converse of smiles
    adorned in frowns and...joy
lying in the street gasping it's
    last breath...what's left?
    petals falling singing their
praises to what "was" but will
    be no more...

    to the vase of memories
    that once breathed us.

So stand them right side up...

    ...breathe new life into the
roses that lived for you and
    loved so true...

    don't let them die ~

    ...make them perfectly whole
and new by echoing my name
    until they recognize just
who ~ saw them in their
    bright sun tanned veins
    stems of honor as they
    once stood tall
    petals proud to open
    for brown eyes
    that kissed dropping
    leaves
    once freed by your desire
    now bound by your sheaves

    that same vase still holds
    a place for "us"
    all you have to do
    is just say
    ~what YOU want...

    everything

so ripe with imagery....culminating in those last two excruciating lines:

    "to the vase of memories
    that once breathed us."

    Blak, you give exquisite verse.

    thank you

    A

    BlakVerb,

Should I even attempt to say something that epitomizes
    what your words always convey?

    I think not - I wouldn't even come close!!!

Man, know this; GOD gave us a gift when he created your poetical voice!!!

    Much Respect
