I wrote this poem on my blog.

These Hands

full of varicose veins from constant exertion

are taken for granted

For if my hands were cut off

I will shout to the heavens

not because of the pain and humiliation

not because I won’t be able to feel the soft hands of my children

or because of the lack of ability to caress my sensual wife

or to express my complex creativity

It will be because I won’t be able to, ,with my own flesh and blood,

verify anything that I own

As it will be taken away from me

Along with my hands.

(This still applies even if you have robotic hands)

Also I don't have kids or a wife :)

These hands

Full of varicose veins
From constant exertion
Such aching pain

Yet strong

With the strength of a
Thousand years
Of warring
And fighting
And tender loving
I give

But soft to the touch

With the strength of
Compassion
A reaction
To the warmth and love
Of a gentle heart
On my part
…And hers

Such wonderful words

Her request for a full-body massage
From head to toe, with scented oils
Warmed just so
For maximum pleasure
Touch and caress
And enjoy the treasure
That is her

With these hands

Just one way I have to express mySELF
Raise my soul and adjust my heft
From right to left
I…

The things I do

With these hands.

(Wouldn't want to lose them)

Interesting piece.

nice to read you.
