67 yrs old Lenny Wilkens finally had enough in New York
and Resigned as coach of the New York Knicks over the weekend
ending a Record setting career starting from back in 1969 when he
was still an all star guard with the Sonics , after long hours talk
with Knicks President (Isiah Thomas) Wilkens said after all the long
consideration he felt it was best and time for him to step away from
it and coaching , Thomas said he would not have fired Wilkens despite
the teams recent slide.....a true living legend of LENNY WILKENS
    congratulation Lenny !

Now top story is Thomas has talked to no other then Phil Jackson
and they have had a warm relationship in the past, Jackson
stated he will listen to the offer and Thomas to fill the Void
    of Wilkens

    1. Do you think Phil will take the job ?

    2. Can Phil turn this club into winners and maybe champions too ?

    3. Is Isiah Thomas making a smart move to bring Phil in ?

    4. It was said when the Bulls beat Thomas and the Pistons it was
Thomas who lead the team off the court not shaking handz with
the Bulls and how good of a friendship do Phil & Thomas have ?

I hope Lenny stays away from coaching for awhile, at least until he gets a stronger team. The past couple of teams he has controlled (NY, Toronto), lacked the talent to be successful. This man has the most wins in the history of the NBA, he shouldn't be satisfied with coaching 500 ball clubs!

To answer brother Rich's question: I'd be surprised if Phil took over the Knicks. P-Jackson likes championship ready teams, I don't think he'd want a "project", which is exactly what the Knicks are. I might be wrong...but I'd be surprised if I am!

what i noticed was the younger brothers on TV saying that Lenny was washed up due to his age.

they would not have said he had a problem due to his color, they would never have cracked on his sex, but they felt comfortable shouting that old people "lose it".

guess that whole "respect the elders" thing is long gone.
    :hammer:

BTW - "washed up" Lenny is to collect $5 million over the next two years.
i'd "resign" too, for that.

Lenny Wilkens is a legend a great coach and a player in his days
I respect our brutha highly and all his great accomplishments in the
    NBA

I don't think Lenny is washed up , just know when to retire

I think Phil will listen he mold the Bulls into there chemistry but a ready team
a former Knick player Phil might take up the offer but you right Pan he had
the best player in the game and a team really ready when coach Doug Collins
was about to take this team over the hill , Phil went into L.A with a 1 , 2 combo
of Kobe & shaq and great cast the Knicks are hurting and no pure star but one
they can build around in Jamal Crawford Phil love to walk in winning but here he
would have to really coach and fine a chemistry and different style play but i
feel he will listen to what Thomas has to offer.

    stay tune !

most of the time Phil gets what he wants to coach a team but who
really out their to sign , I don't think Thomas going to do that right now
but you have an interesting point .
