    Guns hurt the flesh
    But words hurt the spirit
    Worse than a bullet
    My emotions bleed
    Guns require licenses
But shooting words are for free
You shot the words I love you so easily
    And hit the target exactly
A death by a gun is quick
    But words kill very softly
    A gun made of steel
    Is something I can feel
    But hurtful words are intangible
    That makes pain real so
How can we end a violence
    That's out of our control
    Death is the only silence
And when you said you were leaving
    Something died in my soul
    That's when I learned
About the difference between guns and words
    It's only takes one
To pull the trigger of the tongue
    Guns kill for hatred
    But words kill for fun

Yes, sometimes we can be treated like a science experiment of sorts, to see just how badly they can hurt us with words. The wound cuts fathoms deep. Intensely written and felt poet.
