    The rain came
    once more today
    sidewalks downtown
    sweated smoke
    black umbrellas clicked tips
    like crow's claws
    hoods went up and
    greetings evaporated
    buses hit dirty pond's
    ruining bus-stoppers morning's
    coffee's got diluted in
    flash falls of those
    who didn't read the clouds...
    everywhere frown's...
    curses accented the wet
    like the wrong seasoning
    dumped in the wrong dish....
    the elevator smelled like fish
    and wet dog
    personalities arrived waterlogged
    and defeated
and outside now it's still falling in sheets...

    I can only smile...

'cause last week I prayed for relief...

    from this Texas H E A T .

    ~Thankyou God

G-Man..while I don't live in texas, we have the same heat here in summer..and making a living from the land makes rain one of gods most precious gifts...the smell of it when it first hits dry dirt is just beautiful...you described this so vividly..loved the lines,
"black umbrellas clicked tips, like crows claws"...

Oh yeah ~ I'm all to familiar with that "D" town heat!!

    It's murda!!

As much visitin' there as I have done, I will say ... I would take the warmth of a Dallas November/December, rather than taking the below zero temperatures in Minne"snow"ta!! CHU KNOW?!

Where abouts are you G-Man? -- North or South Dallas? Perhaps you're living amongst the historic mansions on Swiss Avenue? Or are you hiding on the tree-lined streets of Oak Cliff???? Where are you G-MAN?? -- Plano?? Garland?? Irving??? Help a sistah out before I put an A.P.B. out on ya' :D

    Will the

    Dallas Area Rapid Transit

bring me to your doorstep?

N2....I live on North side...right where N.Dallas meets Addison by the Galleria and Valley View malls...Beltline and Dallas Pkwy..and yes D>A>R>T does come right to my doorstep ..right at Dallas pkwy...I attend school downtown at El Centro... right by the bus station..... and I spend alot of time at the Community Technology center right by the N. dallas Projects on Hall street...and..I actually plan on doing some extra credit for my History class on one of the Historical homes in the Swiss Ave. area..funny you should mention that..but then again you always seem to be in tune with me...so I'm learning not 2 b so surprised by the placement of your "feelers";) ...truthfully...I miss the snow though..send a bruva some ?

Yep, we are N'tune... Good 2 know that you adjust to my "feelers" well  and that they don't bother you! I guess I loved Dallas so much that I took a lot of time to take in a lot when I did visit -- and again, I will say I visited often ... (also did a lot of shoppin' at the Galleria too) while there on most occasions I stayed in North Dallas with one of my homegirls on Forest Lane ... a few times I stayed in South Dallas too over on McVey with yet another friend ....

How I loved Dallas very much and at one time seriously considered moving there ~ however, that never took hold, and guess what ... I'm still waaaaaay up north  D-town has a lot of beautiful scenery & beautiful black people! Ya'll got it goin' on down there!!

    Much
