Granny love, pick me up when I fall.
Tell them to not laugh you all!
Always said how smart I was ...
    But you're the one.
You lived your life to the fullest.
Saw places and faces that a small
town black girl with no education is
    supposed to see and do...
    Granny I admire you!
You talk about the mistakes you made.
And wished for us the better days.
Gave hope and cash to all in need.
    And still you can't believe.
That with our high faluttin jobs and
    titles and college educations...
We realized that it was you who had
    truly been our life's realizations...
It is because of you that we are here.
We still talk to way in the night ....
About doing what feels good and
    doing what's right!
Dancing in the clubs in Chicgao juke
joints, speak easy's , dance halls and
fancy men! Loving and living the skin
you was in! Had some bad days and
some sad days , yet you still make
    me laugh how you do...
Granny you da coolest the way you
weave a majic tale about the
    good ole days...and using the
latest slang here and there I swear
keeping Oral history alive most days
    you have a positive vibe...
    How did you survive...
So much spirit born before your time
living in the white man's world that
    made no reason nor rhyme!
But you took a piece out of time.
How you throw down on those cakes
and pies and tell them southern lies
about how you cookd so hard felt
    like somebody beat your behind
    with an axe...and me wondering
if you knew what that felt like...
So much pain I see in your eyes
    sometimes...to have outlived the
    others when everyone said you
lived your life so fast...I know you
    have regrets in your past!
But, still you give us hope that just
because we been beat down or
    told we couldn't do something
didn't mean it had to be so...I listen
    and I grow...and I know that you
took a piece out of time and now
that all your bad days are still good
    days cause you're still alive...
At least that's the way it will always be
like it's been from the very start...
All my love Granny "Little Momma" straight
    from the heart.

Thanks, She is so special I had to do it...

Yeah, she is my Granny-Girlfriend and I do cherish her she is 83 years old and still just as feisty as ever...And most of all we are sooooooooooooo close! A blessing in deed cause she tells me everything that went on in the family back in the day. And believe me we are writing down stuff and taping as much as possible. My grandmother was the last woman to ever have to wear a ball and chain after an altercation landed her in jail. She was strong enough to affect change way back in the 1920's in a small southern town...Now that's the legacy I am talking about no matter what she did she "took a piece out of time" and made it her own.

    Blessings On Ya House!
