Grandson: Televangelist Paul Crouch dies at 79

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — Paul Crouch, the televangelist who built what's been called the world's largest Christian broadcasting network, has died. He was 79.

Crouch died at his home in Orange, Calif., on Saturday after a decade-long fight with degenerative heart disease, his grandson Brandon Crouch told The Associated Press.
"He was an incredible businessman, entrepreneur, visionary; he built something that impacted the world," he said.
Trinity Broadcast Network had reported that Crouch fell ill and was taken to a Dallas-area hospital in October while visiting the network's facility in Colleyville, Texas. He later returned to California for continued treatment of "heart and related health issues."

As with the Grahams, I would watch programming on his station frequently. There you would see the up and coming Black evangelists
and singers, as there were no other outlets for them. Of course, Black
was mostly my reason for watching, happy to see us on TV in this
    genre.

I can't say I was ever disappointed in their programming, just got tired
of the begging for money. I detested the frequency of this on the same
    program, nitely.

I enjoyed the variety of their guests. Candi Staton, Blind Boys, Juanita
    Bynum, and so many more.

By the way, do you know if his wife is still living?

He is also on the "Preachers of LA"...did you know that?
    I like him too.
There's a gospel singer..Derrick Haddon, who is also on the show, I like his disruptive spirit. He will call Noel, Clarence and any of them out on their preachings from the pulpit.

What's the purpose of this show, I've never watched it? Explain why Derrick (disruptive spirit) would call them out? I don't understand. Where is the show going with this?

Its a show (reality) that shows their lives behind the scenes, not necessarily just in church services. You see their families, their activities....just like you see Nene Leakes going thru her daily family activities.

Ron Gipson, one of the pastors is an ex-gang member. We've seen him go back to Compton and speak to and bring current gang members to the church.

Derrick, will challenge the pastors about bible scriptures or things that he disagrees with them about interpretations.

    Its their lives on TV...

I thoroughly enjoyed the first season and hope they will return for a 2nd season.

It really is Bro. Clyde, its a show that allows us to see their faults, their concerns, their love life, their short comings, ...all that. It makes them human for all to see.

    RIP Paul Crouch!..

I use to love TBN back in the day, although it has been some years since I've actually watched it.

If it was not for TBN at one time in my life, I would not have made it.:thankyou:

You've run your race Paul and finished your course brother!...

    RIP!
