grandma's smile was home for my free soul
    Mother's milk was fine silk
    then I went blind
    Red roses were my serenity
serendipty played knick nack on my knee
Old women have the secrets of life
    walking through this life
    she was my friend
Grandma has the key to my soul in her smile
her hands were my birth place
slow words of wisdom laced with
    Patient tales of FLYING PEOPLE
    not to many complicated words
    just to the point
The reason I live is her way
not harsh and out of key
    in sequence
    on beat
    with RHYTHM
Grandma has the key to my soul in her finger tips
pounding the keys of my life in the stroke of her B flat finger
GrandPa was my rocking chair my tree my life,
so simple it was then now,
    it's
    we
    are
    confused
    seperated
    lost
    out there
    in

this is a wonderful tribute to grandmothers everywhere.

i was 5 and was choking on a fishbone. my grandmother stuffed a small piece of Wonder Bread down my throat, slung me over her knee and pounded my back. the bread came flying out and the fishbone was stuck to it. it took all of 10 seconds for her to save my life...

i love my grandmother, rest her soul...

and i appreciate you for writing this and reminding me just how much
