Computers - Software Hardware : Google I/O 2012: Android Keynote

They have decided to manipulate us AGAIN. They are not making what they know how to make. The Nexus 7 does not have an SD card slot to add more storage and the USB port cannot handle thumb drives even though it can do Ethernet. We are being played.

But there is a way to bypass the manipulation.

The Kingston Wi-Drive. Portable storage in 16 gig, 32 gig or 64 gig size for $50, $90 or $140. So the 16 gig would give more storage for the same price as the $250 Nexus 7.

It may be possible to root the tablet and load a driver to handle USB sticks but that might void the warranty.

Got Nexus 7. Nice hardware except for no SD card slot. Great screen. Need folding keyboard.

It won't play flash video out of the box. QQPlayer fixes that. Installed CPU monitor for 99 cents. Even playing hi-res video via wi-fi this thing is only using a small fraction of its processing power. My 500 MHz Pentium laptop pegs itself playing flash videos that are relatively low resolution.
