    Late after midnight,
    cold moonlight hits my eyes.
    Late after midnight,
the cold moonlight hits my eyes.
I won’t be going home no more,
I done broke my family ties.

    When my eyes are closed,
I still catch the morning sun.
    Yes, my eyes are closed,
but I still catch the morning sun.
I know you can’t tell by looking,
you don’t know the things I’ve done.

I’d stand up if I could,
I’d stand just like a natural man.
Yes, I’d stand up if I could,
be standing just like a natural man,
but when you left me for another,
baby, that was more than I could stand.

I tried my best to love you,
but honey I couldn’t make you stay.
Yes, I sho-nuff tried to love you,
but I just couldn’t make you stay.
And when you said you loved another,
I had to take your life away.

    Police come to my house,
lights was flashing blue and red.
Police come out to my house,
lights was flashing blue and red.
When they bust down my door,
    they find me laying dead.

    Lying here in the darkness,
my satin pillow and all alone
Just lying here in the darkness,
with my satin pillow and all alone.
When you pass through the graveyard,
please put some flowers on my stone.

is it possible to find beauty inside blues? this gives me that strange and wonderful feeling...I suppose the recognition of having been here before... the blues is a good place to come from...

    I love it, Ra.
