    Dad can you hear me
Is there a connection in cyberspace
    Airwaves to the subconscience
Projecting my words to your dreams

    Greeting you after lost years
Living so far away, I hug you close
I long for you to stay, please
Hold my hand one last time

Many men would never have thought
Of adoption, but you did, and brought me home
    The last of five
Like you needed another mouth to feed

Dad, I am so grateful for you and mom
Ever constant, through thick and thin
Building and rebuilding kitchen and baths
    Gardens, patios, ponds with love

    My dad could do anything
    Always busy with a project
    Unless it was football season
Then it was time out for the game

I never came close to finding my dad
    In anyone special for me
    Hard to measure up to
Such a giant of a man

But, oh dad, your fingers are slipping away
And I am so far, please God
Just let him hear me say
Oh, dad, I love you to the moon and beyond

Dad, I wish you could hold on
Your time of toil is going it's way
In all your kindnesses you will be
Welcomed with open arms in heaven

Leaving us all with fond and loving memories
Your fingers too far for me to reach now
My teacher, my example, my daddy
    Godspeed

My dad, 98, passing. Could not afford an earlier flight. I will be in Seattle Tuesday morning. I would not have him wait, not to suffer...hoping dad hears me so he can go on and go... Love you, Dad.
Thank you for your read. I look forward to your comments.

a wonderful tribute. It's good to hear such heartfelt and respectful words spoken of a father.
