    Please-
    Give me a piece-
    -of a piece-
    -of a slice-
    -of a sliver-
-of a kiss on the lips to make the cravings cease
    Give me peace

Call it a prescription for the impossible
    a call for the unstoppable
    a snapshot of the improbable
    But give me peace -
    of mind-
    of mines –
    of time –
of violence against intellect and rage against the tyranny of stupidity like it’s a crime

Give me Monday mornings that feel like Friday afternoons
where a sip in the middle of the dawn is a taste of the peace to come,

Give me the inconspicuous insinuations of cognitive subtleties that cause the cogs to turn & remind me of own mental fragility -
pushing me to evolve further into my own species

    -Give me-

    a challenge,
knowing that the surmounting cause will like scientific laws
bring me to an intellective climactic surge followed by a pause
associated with none other than –

    peace

    of which I seek
for my mind has grown weary of the drain of the dreary-
    complacent
    audaciously foolish
    boldly blinded
sinking where no man has gone before
    past progression
    and I’m confessin-

    exhaustively

    .Give me peace.

Give me harmonies on an apartment stoop
and fresh rhymes generated by sharp minds,

    Give me cleverly cued conversation
Foreplay that starts with mental determination
    that before procreation
cums sustentation of the intellectual kind
where feasts are feats of the mind
    and in due time
    we can pro-create peace
knowing we have mastered these things so many minor and meager
with the power to make wars cease
    then there will be peace
    on earth
    but first
    things got to get done
and everybody’s waiting for anybody, and nobody come
but yet and still the cry remains
    as we fight to sustain
    Give.
    Me.
    Peace.

This felt so good. Sounded like a transcript from Def Poetry Jam. You know, one of those poets that come really hard on the show full of emotion and wit - making the audience laugh in the middle, then stand up and clap at the end.

Thank you so much, I will read this again.

    One,

I read it again (I actually recited it out loud, sort of performed it to my self).... wow.

My heart is racing and I feel elevated.

    Thank you again.

    One,
