    GHETTO POETRY

The neighbors are fighting over dope
Kesha just sold her food stamps for a gold chain rope
Rayquan beggin’ for fifty cents for a night train sip
Drug dealers guarding liquor stores to make a living

Chrome wheels on a Chevy Nova
    Garbage on grass is blowing
Cops arresting teens with rap dreams for murders

Broad- daylight swinging a forty- ounce
    Two cigarettes for a dollar
Tobacco and top papers when you run out
    Mary Jane seducing reality
    An everyday addiction

    Bilingual in gang signs
    Fast girls with slow minds
Make homeless kids and fatherless children
    Music breaking windows
Crime when the streetlights are on
Gunshots miss and hit an innocent six- year old
Chalk of hopscotch etched around her soul

High school dropouts to claim their social role
    Designer clothes without goals
Expensive cars without a place to go
Bars hit hard when you’re no longer in control
Worth much more then what the eyes can see
Poor dreams awaken to rich realities
Surroundings is just a background to the foreground of your destiny

    A positive change
    Growth and unity
Living the life you wanted before you crossed the streets
    An Original gangster always leads!

    This is Gangland
    Aint no american dream
    Just X and dope
    Thats my destiny
    Its plain too see
    Why I hate Mr Bush
    My hood like your hood
Lessons I could write a book
    I blow it all down
With one huff and one blow
    Hit this real quick
    Promise you fennin for more
Its the Gangland life I live
    Born a dropout
    Too many kids
    Hardknocks when lights out
    Sugar water and bread
Is this the life for a black man
Is this the life for a black man
Is this the life for a black man
    Gangland is my only sin
    Stabbing my way out
    Serving my so called friend
    Yet in the end
Poor dreams awaken to rich realities
Surroundings is just a background to the foreground of your destiny
