My children study Japanese, Chinese and Spanish.. we use Rosetta Stone
software, books, DVDs, summer programs centered around language..etc..
the goal is to be able to speak read and write at least 3 languages..

I think it's important for us to prepare our children to participate in the world economy..

Engish alone is not enough. I think it's time for us all to get serious about learning other languages..

This is a wonderful wonderful idea.

Being bilingual is proven to make people more intelligent and it also makes you much more marketable. I am bilingual. I know American Sign Language as well as English and it has allowed me to be able to go to a Deaf College where everyone speaks ASL.

This guy does amazing translations of music into ASL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjln9OMOw-0&feature=player_embedded

You might want to consider starting your children on musical instruments as well because it's purported to have the same benefits.
