Our dear brotha Oldsoul was telling us about MSG and a little known organ called the omentum that contributes to our battle with the bulge. I did a little research and would like to share with the fambly whatt we found.

The media is pushing the idea that the food we eat is not what causes us to be fat. Our abdomins are weak they tell us so we crunch every day to no avail while our "spare tire" continue to expand. Ever stop to wonder why food companies put MSG in everything we eat while at the same time telling us food is not what causes us to get fat?

Why does the fat invariably go straight to our stomachs? It's not an illusion and it's not a weak abdomin. Our bodies are equipped with what are known as omenta. The primary omentum covers the abdomin. The purpose of the omentum is to store energy in the form of fat for the body's use in time of want. Excess sugars and starch are immediately sent to the quilt like pockets of this organ in preparation for times when that energy will be needed. The problem is so many Americans look like they are stocking up for a seven year famine. Food companies create MSG in our foods which encourage us to eat more by decreading the food's nutritional value and increasing the sugar content. So the store house keeps filling up but the famine never comes.

Although the FDA requires food companies to list the common name of all ingredients in foods what many, if not most, consumers don't realize is monosodium glutamate is only one of over forty different food ingredients that contain MSG. Because MSG is not an actual ingredient but a substance produced in the processing of certain ingredients the FDA only requires that the ingredient itself be listed on the label not the fact that MSG is present in the ingredient.
Excerpt from a Truth in Labeling Campaign article
    http://www.truthinlabeling.org/II.WhereIsMSG.html
"The distinction between having MSG poured into an ingredient and processed into an ingredient is important because the glutamate industry plays on this distinction in their efforts to hide the presence of MSG. One of their favorite ways of hiding MSG is to claim that there is "no added MSG" in a product. If MSG is processed into a product instead of being poured into a product, they declare that there is "no MSG added" or "no added MSG," in the product, even though they know full well that the product contains MSG. "

The best way to get rid of that gut:
    1. Get up off the floor
    2. Educate yourself about how food companies hide MSG in our food

    3. Read the labels of the food in your pantry, freezer and refrigerator to see if they contain any of the false names.
    4. Educate yourself about the uses and abuses of your omentum.

    5. Do aerobic excercises like walking

    Each One Teach One

Thank brotha oldsoul for bringing it to our attention. I never heard of an omentum before he mentioned it.
