"Student referendums help to express important student perspectives but do not create university policy and are not binding," Matt Hill, the university's media relations manager, told ABC News in a statement. "The university will carefully review the results of the referendum, and regardless of the outcome, will remain committed to engaging with students, Descendants, and the broader Georgetown community and addressing its historical relationship to slavery."

Presidential candidates try to resonate with black voters at the National Action Network Convention
Over a dozen declared and potential presidential hopefuls were slated to attend


Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., who will speak at the National Action Network later this week, held a press conference in Washington, where he reiterated his support for Rep. Jim Clyburn's 10/20/30 plan, an effort the South Carolina congressman said aims to help counties that has poverty over 20 percent for over three decades. Those communities would then be required to receive at least 10 percent of federal funds from a specific program aimed at those communities; when asked if it was a form of reparations, Booker, however, declined to comment, Clyburn however said the measure is "absolutely" a form of reparations...

As a curiosity question I'm wondering how the parents of the students would have voted. as they are probably the ones paying the majority of the tuition and fee not the students?
