'Genuine compassion is based on a clear acceptance or recognition that others, like oneself, want happiness and have the right to overcome suffering. On that basis one develops concern about the welfare of others, irrespective of one's attitude to oneself. That is compassion'.

    Dalai Lama

(i find this very impressive and helpfull maybe it can be helpfull to others to)

    Thank you for sharing this!

This reminds me of "The Empathy Deficit."

    But, this is wonderfully thought-provoking.

Everyday I try to exercise compassion, because before I was given my faith, I don't think I showed nearly enough. Even now, I can't say I show "enough", but I've now a better understanding to how important it is to have, more so for the one receiving it.
