The Journey of Man: A Genetic Odyssey

The Journey of Man: A Genetic Odyssey

The Journey of Man: A Genetic Odyssey is a book by Spencer Wells, an American geneticist and anthropologist, in which he uses techniques and theories of genetics and evolutionary biology to trace the geographical dispersal of early human migrations out of Africa. The book was made into a TV documentary in 2003.[1]

Contents

  • According to the recent single origin hypothesis, human ancestors originated in Africa, and eventually made their way out to the rest of the world. Analysis of the Y chromosome is one of the methods used in tracing the history of early humans. Thirteen genetic markers on the Y-chromosome differentiate populations of human beings.
It is believed, on the basis of genetic evidence, that all human beings in existence now descend from one single man who lived in Africa about 60,000 years ago

In the Spirit of Sankofa,

.......Even though this is old news, it can't be talked about or viewed enough sister noor100, thanks for bringing this to the forum. Also, as a creationist, I'm with you on rejecting all portions of evolution. Wells is puzzled himself, lol, and can't figure how something evolutionary could happen in such a short period of years: 50,000; in view of the billion of years they speculate the earth's age to be.

For your review, here's another thread on the issues, as set out by a black man, Booker T. Coleman:

Peace In,

Thanks for chiding in...I'm going to check out the video you gave link to.

The problem is these people don't understand who the Creator is!!!

In the Spirit of Sankofa,

.......Not a problem sister noor100, no, not at all. WoW, again you are correct...but lets give them some credit, at least they came up with Intelligent Design; as a result, many older/former atheists have crossed over.

Peace In,
