Just a little something I've been sitting on....not too sure about it really....let me know what you think.....Nuff Luv xxx

    Was I born a sufferer
Or did I merely adopt the tendencies
    Highlight the symptoms
    Become a carrier
    A self-absorbed disease
    Potentially no cure
    Just sympathy and self-pity
A life long struggle with no loopholes
A contract of misery and heartache
Sealed with the kiss of the devil
And the stamp of your conscience
    I cry the days away
Like a child in search of safety
I live a life based on dreams
Dreams that defy the rules of this temperamental society
A society that cators for some, but not all
Inadequate socialisation processes leaving us vulnerable
Scarred and weakened by the penetrating touch of Mother Wickedness
I shield my eyes but my pupils still dilate
I open my mouth to scream but am suffocated by silence.
I attempt to fight but find myself paralysed.
    Maybe I'm a woman scorned
    Sentenced to an eternity
    Imprisoned in a reality
That is set to test my weaknesses
    Guilty until proven otherwise
    The reasons, irrelevant
    The convictions, set for detonation
A measure to break down the barrier
That keeps me confined between walls
Where external stimuli have the means
    To overpower my senses
And leave me open to heartache
    Was I born a sufferer
Or did I merely adopt the tendencies
    A plague in my bloodstream,
    A thorn in my heart
    You on my mind.

A sufferer? When we are at our weakest sometimes we are at our strongest.
And, the ability the feel so deeply is often more of a blessing in disguise than
a bad thing. I am in tune with this melody because I'm a sufferer too. Emotively written. :welldone:

I feel you poet. When the load gets really heavy, and it seems that sadness is a constant companion, you can't help but wonder why, inherently, why? These feelings can multiply, in matters of the heart. Your words were piercing, well written scribe indeed.
