GENERATIONAL GAMES

40 years separate us..
New words, concepts dismiss the old
As if they did not exist
Denial of age
Past history
Differences
Language and its uses
Music and its melodies
“This is how the world sees it”
The words of today with no remembrance
Or care of what was…
What still is to some
“Well it won’t come back
Get over it…admit you are wrong
Straightening means relaxing
Not some hot comb”…
“Well, maybe…but trust me
When I say in a minute
Either way , like Lorraine says
Excuse me do you know who that is”
This visionary from the past
She says…”it mutilates.”.
And
I still say “straightening means the comb
And Relaxing means the chemicals”
“you never admit you are wrong”
I walk away…not willing to play
generational game
again.
