    ...for Angela.

    I squint
    into the sun
    wipe sweat
    from my forehead

    leaning on my tool
    of knowledge

    I look back
    over the wide
    firm expanse

    n e a t -r o w s
reminding me of battles in the dirt.

    overgrown patches recalling
    past neglect..
    places I must revisit
    ....one day...

    soon.

    head swings forward
    to view
    future work

    daunting

    ....If

    I look too
    l o n g
    or
    too far
    a h e a d.

    my wife approaches

    I stare
    at her progress

    eyes meet

    our love is r e c i p r o c a t e d

    for the thousandth
    time

    varied as
    the seasons

    w i t h o u t w o r d s

    I seek wisdom
    in my
    woman's
    love

    her moon
    always full
    her harvest
    of advice
    always fertile

    she is h a l f o f m e

    we till
    this garden
    of life

    removing
    stones and weeds
    of discontent
    killing parasites
    of isolation

    she smiles
    across the rows
    of
    young growth
    she hands
    me
    cool water

    she says

    baby...I am happy

    I
    love
    our garden
    of understanding

    yes love...I state

    we are blessed
    in this
    bounty of life

    then

silence for awhile...as the breeze accents our thoughts

    finally

I raise my tool and say...
    got work to do
    before the
    sun sinks

    maybe....
    we'll get some
    rain
    tomorrow

    she says

    yeah baby....

    maybe.

    G-MAN.....

this piece/peace was beautiful in it's simplicity...

it has made me quiet... (i love it when a poem touches me that way)

...the imagery/visuals are fantastic! thanks for sharing.

    OneLuv.

I grow from the light of your ....observation

N2......GA......you know I always wanted to be like my old uncles ....with that connection to the earth...everything in their arsenal of wisdom came from correlations and demonstrations involving the earth.... whether it was some action... or observation...farming...building a house..fishing or smokin' meat
there was always a lesson or a basic positive character attribute.
Now as I grow older and a little wiser through my own experiences I am seeing finally what they saw and I believe one day I will look at myself and say ...man ...Im just like ''Ole Unc"
    and thas gonna be allllllllllr i g h t.....thanks N2.......thankyou GA
Do you knowledge and Understand how much your criticism means to me as an aspiring poet and as a man ...just trying to live right...I put emphasis on "trying"......peace.;) ;) ;) :D much:heart:
