dedicated with love and respect to my sista/friends...they know who they be
ramblings from the hope chest...
she ain't a hypocrite
or nothing
...she keeps it real
and she don't gimme no BS
when I need to hear
clear word
she don't use no pulpit
to preach no sermons
just that arm of love &
understanding
she wraps around me
she sees everything
before it happens,
she scary like that
got some kinda
extra soul perception
into my situation
she knows how
easy it is to fall from grace
without even taking
a step outside
before I plant my
feet on the floor
in the morning
when I rise
she knows
I slip...
and she'll gimme a
crooked little smile
lean her head
to the side
look me
dead in my eyes
& tell me without
even moving her lips
"you know God ain't smilin, sis"
