Black People : From Nation Time, to Party Time, to Jail Time, Time we Controled the Paradigm of our Youth

The Last Poets, rapped "N" are scared of revolution,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qW3F48s1fQ

so the oligarchy worked hard to make that "N" word the in thing
so that an entire generation could care less about revolution

The popular theme around Black youth of the early 70s was
"Arm the Masses"

COINTELPRO said OK, just that the mindset
of the youth will be changed, then flood them with
more guns then they can handle

So it went from freedom fighters railroaded and framed to jail ,
to jail becoming a rites of passage

Chuck:

The continuing popularity of this crap reveals a lot about the lack of social and political consciousness of today's youth...

I. e., something Morrison's and West's comments are important and relevant for us to factor in, via that other thread...

Simply put:

This ain't the seventies...

And even back then:

Folks like us were in the minority...

FYI...

Chuck:

An obvious addition: Gil Scott Heron's take on RUNNING WITH THE DEVIL!

Considuring your unique insights ala popular culture, that should've been a given, since one of the most popular movie's of recent years was/is BATMAN RETURNS, and the revamped character of the Joker...

But shall we regress and retreat, as this late white world power fades from the world scene, and/or without much dignity left, at the top?

We shouldn't need or want to...

Let us more forward again!

FYI...

Youth will naturally follow any trend whether positive or negative. We feel they have a duty, they feel they have a duty to emulate us , the best and the worst, and as we have become politcilay complacent they also see no need for political effort or political ideology as the youth of the 60s.

and 70s had.

When we change or provide them with alternatives to the madness they will change.

There are more young Black men in college then in the prisons but as the economy declines, Black folks loose jobs, and homes, and tuitions skyrocket, how long will that trend continue?

If we are not creative in occuying the focus of our youth then the elements of the organized crime police state complex will, as the economy declines

Chuck:

Public Enemy dared to say, "Let's do the March On Washington over again, but do it with, this time!"

Arrogence bred by ignorance has plagued their takes, from the very beginning...

I might not have agree with my dad's generation points of view, but I never considered myself their rivals, and my takes were/are my own...

Chuck:

When folks put that 'no adults allowed' sign on their treehouses, obviously they didn't need or want us to be hip to what they're about...

Only and when they quit keeping us at a distance, can well advise them about anything...

Chuck:

What you fail to face up to is how pro capitalist etc. some of today's youth are...

Also the rationale others resort to justify doing anything to just make a buck...

I. e., sometimes the exploited oppressed and oppressed mimic their peoples exploiters and oppressors, not our fault and their choice...

Chuck:

Again the mainstays of yesterday are granddads and grandma's, so it's today's generations time to make a difference...

And, of we (way back in the day) didn't anticipate all of this, neither are our peoples enemies all knowing/all seeinng...

You attribute too much to them, too little to us and our relations...

Some things can and should be associated with the negative influence of blackspoitation movies etc., aka SUPERFLY/THE MACK/etc., and now we're reaping what they sowed..

Also suchlike is the roots of gangsta rap...

One thing didn't create today's mess:

Though it's one we'll have to clean up the mess anyhow...

FYI...

One of the greatest aspects of African culture is that there was a paradigm of community love, development and a love for excellence in education, for tens of thousands of years, amongst hundreds of ethnic groups, all over the continent.

The Corporate Oligarchy understood that this aspect of youth culture had to be surgically removed from newly captured Africans, via torture both psychological and physical, in order to keep the youth of African people absent of any fabric of culture and open to mind control.

Before integration, there was a code of behavior among Black youth after reconstruction in the North and South, regardless pacific or Atlantic;
Dr Clarke mentions this in "A Great and Mighty Walk"http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5784756819358533059

After integration, there was a spirit of Hightened and Actively Focused Consciousness coming from the Black youth both moderate, and militant, that said "we do not trust the story of integration being enough as if we can be pacified, there is much more that we demand!"

The youth in the South , were demanding not just voter rights but voting strategy and alternatives to the white political parties, and they worked hard to help Fannie Lou Hamer in these efforts.

The youth in the north were demanding basic human rights and the Black Power Movement was formed by the youth, and these young activities both North and South scared the hell out of white supremacy.

So they needed a solution, eclipse this rising sun from the grassroots, so they according to Chancellor Williams flooded the community with hard drugs sold on pennies to the dollar, at a loss to the importers and a profit to already economicialy disenfrachised vendor, and then control the music!

The music went from this;

To this:

The Afrocentric Movement and Black Power Movement
was replaced by a
"Do your Own Thing Culture"
we stopped wearing Dashikis, and instead pimp styled, hats canes, Maxi coats, cuffed bell bottoms, and platform shoes
and families that before would stay together and try to make things work, were breaking up left and right, and practically everyone had a friend, family member or coworker that got messed on coke.
The popular symbol worn around the neck went from the Ankh, to the coke spoon!

Groups like Earth Wind and Fire, Mtume, Mandrill, Roy Ayers,

Sun Ra, Pharoah Sanders Osibisa, and Manu Dibango

, enraged the oligarchal culture manipulators, because they dared to awaken folks out of a chemical high and into conscious raising.

Their chess move, get rid of music in the schools, instruments, glee clubs, musical appreciation, the whole works, so that there wont be a new generation of musicians to upset their plans.

But in the 80s resourceful young men and women, took what they had available as AV in the schools, record players, microphones and speakers, and created a new form of music, rap;
From rap cam an exciting Hip Hop culture, to allow innercity Black youth the means for musical expression,

however this was observed, and those elements that tried to restore the "Old African Paradigms,
through conscious rap

were put down quickly and what did flourish was music that was genocidal, via gangsta rap that celebrated shooting and killing one another.

Artist who followed this path were paid lovely, so as to squelch any militancy in the youth, the added element of a new drug craze,

had to be added, as the coke faze was added to slow movements before.

The bootlegger Zionist organized crime family of Bronfman, developed Death row record to actually promote just that.

and it worked; Not only did it decrease the Black male population, but it profited the industry of the Prison Industrial Complex, increased insurance rates, and devalued real estate, causing many Blacks to vacate the hood, allowing white developers to buy prime real estate for pennies on the dollar.
Once whites moved into those ares the drugs were cleaned up over night.
The conspiracy of regentrification

Chuck: There are some facts and truths to be found here...

It's just that you overgeneralize and aren't being specific enough...Most can't and won't take the time etc. to find them..

Attention spans are short...On must be brief and get to the point or not be listened at all..

Most of the sources you sight are of commercial artists...They may have merely reflected their eras...Not meant to define them...

Not everybody is striving to be another Stevie Wonder...

Or Gil Scott/Heron...

Though a particular black hebrew video blasted Busta Rhymes "A-Rah Money" etc. via th performer's backing by those alleged Zionists...

And anybody wise to certain Islamist defenders need not to make any more tracks like Jaycee's 'Pimping'...

One source claims these commerical rappers are just middle class wannabes breaking the most obvious rules I attribute to black performers who have more 'class', i. e., never diss another ethnic/racial/etc. group...

Considering the outrage exibited when a white racist burned a Koran, I don't feel or think the black rapper realizes what he might be in for...

But who claims he was thinking when it recorded the track?!?

Neither was the Outkast group when they recorded 'Hey Yah'...

Though they did clean up their act...

But ticked off Navaho/Dineh aren't religious extremists...

Though the 'Crazy' Wayne fronted "RED NATION" is much worse...

And so it goes...

Again the need and want is to be aware of what others b. s.might put us in the midst of...
