Black Poetry : From Destined Destruction to Divine Destiny

Once destined to an eternal hell
Born in sin
Doomed for eternity
Because of transgression
In the Garden
Yet Love shined on me
Dispatched Mercy and Grace
To lift me
Out of the pit of sin and shame
On a rugged cross
On a hill called Calvary
Love
Showed his
Love
Died that I may be free
And changed my destiny
No longer
Doomed for all eternity
But now
A right to the tree of life
This is the real reason
The Lighthouse shines
That others
May know the one true Love
The Love that the Father
Commended towards us
In that while we were yet sinners
Christ died for us
No longer hell bound
I’m going to a land
Where the wicked
Shall cease from troubling
And the weary shall be at rest
I’m going to a place where
I can walk on streets paved with gold
And where I can sit at my Savior’s feet and be blessed
Love shaped my destiny
Love molded my destiny
Love redirected my destiny
Love changed my destiny
That I may exemplify
His Love
And give his Love away to others
Peace be unto you
