As a girl i have found it hard to have friendships with white women. It seems that all of them let you down in a short amount of time
With Asain and middle eastern i have come to realize that they will never see a black person as a friend, as they are second to the white people and are fighting to be accepted it's a dog eat dog world for those who are not white or in their race.
As black women and men how do you find friendships with people outside your race.
Would you agree that white women are not trustworthy either as well as asains

The friendship between the enslaved and the enslaver is called "enslavement."

:hello: bobbie ... Welcome Welcome Welcome ...

I don't know if i've already welcomed you, but just in case, thanks for joining us and sharing!

I think it's unfortunate that you have to write off an entire group of folk, for the actions of a few.

I'm wondering does this logic apply to Black People as well, when it's difficult to get along with a few of us, you throw all of us away?

I'm wondering too, to what heights do you expect the "friendship" or "trust" to go, for therein may lie the problem.

Could it be that you're expecting too much? If you reduce your expectations, the interactions might fall within a more pleasant and sustainable range.

When it comes to interacting with others, each / all involved have some responsibility regarding the outcome of said engagement, and to put it all on one or even an entire group of folk (when the entire group is not even involved) ... well ... that doesn't seem right to me ... for it absolves the one coming to such conclusions from any obligation to check their own behavior and/or contribution.

I have friendships with others outside my race, and have not found white women or asians hindering my ability to trust ... to the degree that the situation might warrant such.

Thanks for sharing, and please make yourself at home!

    Much Love and Peace.

As a man, women are not ussually the problem. I have had women friends of most kinds, some very close. Lol. Yes even white......

Men are of an all together different issue. I don't make very many yankee (whites) friends. I have Morocan freids, Japanese friends, African friends. Jamaican, Belizian, New Yorker(smiles). I can make friends. But like Destee said, how close?

    Peace Ms. Bobbie..

race is all you see through race-tinted glasses. before you reach for such broad categorical reasons for your failed friendships, be sure you have conducted a thorough and accurate inventory of your own self and disposition. That race hammer is all too easy to pick up; look harder and longer.. or everything.. and I mean everything.. will become the nail.

    - peace again.. and welcome to Destee.com..

Living here in the Caribbean and in Barbados in particular, blacks have never been close to whites on a social level. The black population is more than 90% . Blacks were never in school with white folks, and some perhaps worked with some in the work place. I met a few while I lived in England..but were not close to them. I guess for African Americans and blacks who live in England and Europe where the white population is greater blacks would be may be able to make a better judgment. Speaking from my area here blacks and white do not socialise so there is no close connection.

My situation is that I live around, work with, and socialize exclusively Caucasians.
Frequently, I'm the only Nubian in the room, forum, or conference.
My face-to-face contact with other Nubians is sparse.

I don't have any problems or none that I may perceive.
My exposure to other Nubians are either my family by phone or this forum.

Is this the beginning of something I'll have to complete?
