maintaining a friendship with you
like counting the hurricanes out in the ocean
how many times will we get hit this season
like the prediction of a storm
how much destruction
how many times will the blows make life worn
tattered emotions
strength on the one hand, anger on the other
weather watch
sometimes the days are sunny and warm
and i miss you like missing the spring after a harsh winter
and other days are dark and cloudy
your displaced emotions and struggles
dead on - just like my own
we've experienced the same **** things
just not with each other
surviving in a parallel universe
mirrored emotions, mine for you, yours for another
i'm still repairing the damage
rebuilding every day
trying to place an anchor and make our hearts stay
where they belong, but the anchor moves
and feels like what it is...a weight
but still i maintain this friendship
we both do
a port in each others storm
a lighthouse shining brightly
we come together
and once again get hit by the calm before the storm
