Is free though something that is suppressed on black websites thru stealth like techniques of ostracism and the (electronic) cold shoulder?

Are people drawn in and told to "speak their mind" only to find out that certain opinions are not accepted by the "ruling class" of the particular forum and suddenly find themself being cut off and eventually pushed out of the site if not outright banned?

can't speak on all black sites but the few i have visit had a standard
a set rule and allowed freedom of speech but also ask that one stay
within the guide lines as we do here , everyone has an opinion to speak
and bring what they feel out we all pose a different view on many issues
and discussions and the key is to come together resolve and fine a solution
to whatever it is ......so i speak for here and say no one gets mistreated for
free thinking at all we as people growing and bonding can't lay a cover over
one's thinking and free will .

Destee asked the question "what in life is free?"...you would think speech would be one of the things that is free, but even it comes with a price. Whenever "free speech" comes to the point of disruption then it is not acceptable, and is usually suppressed in some form or fashion. Free speech carries with it responsibility, respect, and even protocol.

I don't understand why a site would ban or suppress someone's opinion, even if it differs from the "ruling class" or majority, but I can understand why a site might ban someone if they show disrespect or is not responsible in the delivery of their "free speech". Disruption and disrespect is usually what I see in those situations you speak of, by one or both parties...in that case other actions are garnered to suppress or eliminate the disruption.

Free speech in not free at all, there is a price attached to it, and as we find out on different websites, restrictions as well

I dont understand either but it happens. People get shunned and cut off much like in the real world if someone does something in a black area that they consider to not be "black enough" they get treated like garbage from then on....the internet is no different IMO.

The bolded statement is SO TRUE. People can talk the talk all day about openness and acceptance, then when you touch on a topic that they wont budge on, their true colours shine thru and they start hating.

I think that most people have their own opinions on what is right and wrong. I'm learning that no matter how open most people claim to be, there are subjects that they have deep seated opinions about that will not change for any reason.

True...and those deep seated opinions cause seemingly nice people to attack when speaking of black people as I have experienced too many times. Thanks for the reply Toylin!!

    Hi MrBlak ...

I can't speak for what happens on other web sites ... but if you feel this has happened to you here, please let us know. We work hard to insure that all feel welcome and free to express themselves ... though it must be done respectfully.

Just not sure if you're talking about this site or some other one.

    Thanks for looking out destee.

I am still in the process of deciding what I think of this site and the people in it. I see the beginings of some of the negative things I faced on other sites, but I will wait and see. If there is any more problems, I will coem directly to you.

    Thanks again!!
