    Actually, all you have to do is to write the VP of public relations. I have gotten free yearly subscriptions to them and other mags that way, not to mention books. They throw away away thousands of issues every year that either don't sell.

    I don't read Ebony...but I like the word "Free"

    Try it with any mag you read, but mail usually works best, not email. At the worse, it'll only coat you a few minutes and a stamp.
    I personally am getting 9 mags for free like that. If you look at a mags yearly report they publish in their mag, you'll see that that literally have thousands of issues that are returned, or used for promotional things. They are happy to let someone have one for free every month.
    Also write publishers about books, again going to the VP of marketing or public relations.
    As my father use to tell me, don't be afraid to ask for something. The worst that can happen is they will say no.
