I am understanding what one is representing, just trying to fine tune it so there can be no room for interpretation or misinterpretation.



Did Moses and the Children of Israel have "first day convocations" prior to being given the "Laws and Statutes"?

As for the Eighth day concept, here my issue with that:

Unless Moses was given the ritual of observing the 1st day of every month with "Holy Convocation", how does one conclude that they observed the 1st day, and then counted the next day as the first of the 7 days... which on the 7th (one suggests it to be the 8th) they were to rest.

This first day of the month convocation is only spoken of in regards to the 1st and 7th months, only.
Unless one can share where there are other mentions of the first day on the third month, fourth month, etc.. then these observances are exclusive to the 1st and 7th months only.

Even the passage one quotes from Ezekiel is referring to the first day of the first month​

Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary:

and the first day of the seventh month​

In the seventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.


So sharing this passage:


Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

Shows "the day of the new moon" is referencing the first day of the 1st and 7th months.
Not observing a new moon convacation every month.

Month 1: New moon convocation on the 1st day, and other Sabbaths/convocations throughout month
Month 2: not quite sure as the 7 weeks of 7 Sabbaths occurs until Pentecost
Month 3: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 4: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 5: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 6: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 7: New moon convocation on the 1st day, and other Sabbaths/convocations throughout month
Month 8: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 9: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 10: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 11: New moon convocation not mentioned
Month 12: New moon convocation not mentioned


Again, the "new moon" is not referencing every new moon, just the ones on the 1st and 7th months.

Reveal where it is written that they were to have these convocations throughout the year, and not just on the 1st and 7th months?

This scripture in Amos gives us a CLUE; the Hebrews kept a New Moon sabbath every month.

3. Amos 8-5 "Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat,"

Well as you can READ you could NOT BUY or Sell on the First of Every Month and the 8th of every Month which is the HOLY SABBATH

this is why The Holy Sabbath is on the 8th Day of every Month

The prophet Ezekiel gave us the best understanding on the Hebrew culture new moons and how and when the Sabbaths were observed giving us CLEAR understanding and connecting with the words of Moses in Exodus Chapter 20- 8-10

Then he also says the the Gates would be open on the SABBATH as well

1 DAY OF EVERY MONTH THEY HAD A NEW MOON SABBATH
6 days from the New Moon SABBATH WOULD BE THE 7TH DAY OF THE MONTH RIGHT?

THE NEXT DAY WOULD BE THE 8TH DAY THAT WOULD BE EXACTLY WHAT MOSES SAID SIX DAYS YOU WORK(6 DAYS FROM THE NEW MOON SABBATH) BUT ON THE SEVENTH DAY THERE WAS ONE AND ONLY ONE HOLY SABBATH.

See my friend you do not understand the Hebrew culture and your misunderstanding the culture. This subject was never talked about or taught mainstream Christians follow a Weekly sabbath every Fri or Sunday.

There is no scripture thats said to do a Sabbath Every 7 days no one has ever proved it. So lets start over again this is how they did it.

Lets talk to Ezekiel he will show you how the Hebrews did their sabbaths

Ezekiel Chapter 46-1

lets review Ezekiel said that every new moon(1st day of the Month) the Gates of the inner court of the Temple WILL BE OPEN and 6 days from the New Moon it will be closed then opened on the 8th day of every month which is the HOLY SABBATH

Example:
1 day of Every month is a New Moon Sabbath. Now count 7 days from the New Moon
thats 8, the 8th day of every month was a Holy Sabbath not once a Week but once every 8th day of the month
now compare this info too exodus

Exodus Chapter 20- 8-10
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Crammer note: notice it keeps using the word Sabbath day in the singular not plural

That means one one day out of 30 is a Holy Sabbath.

Six days you will work that means the Temple would be closed as well for 6 straight working days

So lets review with the info we just went over and APPLY the knowledge we haved learned to answer Exodus 16 - 13-30


See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.------Exodus 16:29-30

So on the first of every month the Hebrews had a New Moon Sabbath then for 6 straight days they picked manna then on the 6th day which would be the 7th day of the month the picked double the amount becasue the next day was the HOLY Sabbath.

Then the next days after the Holy Sabbath 9-30 they still picked manna EVERY day but there were NO MORE SABBATHS until the 1st of Next month which was a NEW Moon Sabbath then 6 days later they picked double because the next day was the HOLY SABBATH

Sabbath Calendar according to the Lunar cycle

first look at a Feb 2015 calendar look for the New Moon
2. The New Moon will start on Feb 18 2015 and New Moon Sabbath
3. The New moon Sabbath Starts the Beginning of the New month according to the Hebrew calendar
4. So feb 18 on the solar calendar(Gregorian Julian calendar) would actually be March 1st on the Hebrew lunar calendar
5. Now count 7 days from Feb 18 - 25
6. so on Feb 18 2015 is the New Moon Sabbath and Feb 25 2015 7 days later is the HOLLY SABBATH which is according to GOD it is March 8th 2015

As for Ezra 7-9 He was in NO WAY in violation of the Law

Remember you can not Buy of sell he did neither hence he was not in violation

Bro do you have any more info on this. For some reason in the last few days this came to mind that there has been a misunderstanding of the sabbath and I just so happen to Google the topic and I found your post. I would really like to hear more.
