<whew!> Brother Keita got me to looking at this thing. I started at google, of course, and came up with these links. wow!! Might it be worthwhile to struggle through this stuff and try to make some sense out of it?

Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
    Equal Protection Clause

Frankly, I'm not real sure quite how I feel about all of this. Nor am I sure, yet, that I understand quite what the ramifications might be. I do know that I came up with a whole lot of confusion. I hope that we could work on this for a while and gain some clarity/insight into this place that we all work, live, play, raise families and die in.

Our schools are still divided by race
Our unemployment is triple that of whites
Our Civil rights law aren't enforced unless some outrages act gets super media attention
Our Housing rights? No we are herded into locations where our Credit reports/Black Codes dictate

If anybody think we have the same full citizenship rights as whites your living in a dream. Wake up and smell the 2nd class citizenship status.

If we refuse to see the problem then we can't improve our lot.

I think that the issue here is not the lack of citizenship rights as it is the lack of social and economic JUSTICE and a disparity of wealth.

How can one state that we are not citizens then speak to a lack of civil rights enforcement? If you are not a citizen then what civil rights are there to enforce? This is where brother Malcolm taught elevating the struggle from civil rights to human rights, and then "internationalizing" that struggle.

The 14th amendment granted citizenship to former Black slaves. It was not written to end all forms of DISCRIMINATION. Racial discrimination and segregation are seperate issues.

This is why I say 2nd class citizenship. We have citizenship but its degraded down.
Let me give some more examples:

A.drug laws enforced on blacks differenly than on Whites
    B. Driving while Black

Well, if the 14th amendment was never ratified into Constitutional law, then the assertion that Diasporic Africans are citizens becomes void.

Are we talking in a circle?

The 14th amendment was to give citizenship and access to the law. If the application of law isn't equal then your citizenship has already been degraded.

Second class citizenship is still a form of CITIZENSHIP.

Again, enforcement of civil liberties is a secondary concern.

The 14th Amendment WAS ratified. (July 9, 1868)

What do you think was the basis of Affirmative Action legislation passed in accordance with the Equal Protection clause?

And it is this same basis by which whites have successfully challlenged these same Affirmative Action programs as unconstitutional.

Seemingly it boils down to US or THEM.

Let the 'government' determine your citizenship or 'we the people' will have to decide.

That is why there is a CONCERTED EFFORT (NO CONSPIRACY with FACT) to destroy ESTABLISHED FOUNDATIONAL COMMUNITIES (PLACES our PEOPLE wanted to be FREE from DISCRIMINATION and BUILD AMONGST OUR OWN) in BLACK AMERICA because the GOVERNMENT BUSINESS etc (GROUPS) knows that being an INDIVIDUAL is NOTHING but a PEOPLE (our COMMUNITY) can DEMAND and DETERMINE our RIGHTS beyond their INTEPRETATION of a FLUFF DOCUMENT call the US CONSTITUTION.

Our COMMUNITIES (PEOPLE) across the NATION composed of our PIONEERING ANCESTORS were DOUING that.

Now it has all but CEASED.

If your going to be an INDIVIDUAL you must be EXTRAORDINANRY (Not of the NATION DOING of BUSINESS) to get GOVERNMENT BUSINESS etc to RECOGNIZE your RIGHTS.

But now I am TALKING MYSTERIES.

    Oh well.
